Recently I've come across many notebooks with bands around them and I'm guessing they're influenced by Moleskine? I've wanted a Moleskine for a long time but because of its ridiculous over pricing I didn't get one and besides, it's just a notebook.
Anyway, I was walking around a mall yesterday when my friend Justine - and I don't know how we wandered into this subject but I think it has to do with an 80 year old me with Alzheimer - suggested to me, or us, to start a journal. Of course it isn't the newest idea (i'm sure everyone has thought of it numerous times before) but at that time it sounded like a brilliant one.
And for some reason I was frigging pumped with excitement and crazy joy.
BUT there was a problem.
Most notebooks, nice ones at least, are too pricey for me and I almost settled for a RM30 notebook which, with my kiamsapness, is crazy much. Then because I finally settled for a simple notebook, Justine came up with another awesomesauce idea which is to wrap a yarn around it (lol).
The yarn idea (because I still had Moleskine at the back of my head) turned into a Moleskine band idea.
So here! A DIY Moleskine band tutorial(?)! Best thing is you can do it for any book :)
What you need :

I bought 1meter of the elastic band for RM0.80.
The notebook was from MPH Midvalley and it's only RM13 for 240 pages. It's by GoPalm and is ecofriendly :D

Hope this helps in any way!
Love, AngelKein.

You are very resourceful. You are a good writer too, so reading your journal many years from now, or sharing with your kids someday, will be very interesting I'm sure.
Merry X-mas.

Thank you :D But because it's my personal journal, I'm writing very badly in it haha.
Merry Christmas to you too Mike! :)
