Hai-di-ho everyone! It's officially the start of the school holidays and I am excited for...the unknown. Wooo sounds so dramatic am I not? But yes, for the unknown. I've come to realize recently that no matter how hard you may plan things to go, there is really no certainty in anything. What we have is today; this second right now.
Well then love, back to the topic.
Unifi was fixed up in my house just in time for the holidays (I just noticed) and I've downloaded a whole bunch of movies and tv series. A little out of topic but...I've also realized how I've lost myself in this blog, yoyo-ing from one particular subject to another so today, I will do what I use to do, what I use to do without the thought or fear of judgmental feedbacks, well..I shall share. I use to write these kind of posts - my favorite movies, the song I just fell in love with, the guy I had a crush on.. you know, things people normally don't write about these days. So anyway, without further ado, here's (some of) my recent favorites.
They're not in any particular order. Just putting it down as I go.
Synopsis :
“Julia Child (Meryl Streep) and Julie Powell (Amy Adams) are featured in writer-director Nora Ephron’s adaptation of two bestselling memoirs: Powell’s Julie & Julia and My Life in France, by Julia Child with Alex Prud’homme. Based on two true stories, Julie & Julia intertwines the lives of two women who, though separated by time and space, are both at loose ends…until they discover that with the right combination of passion, fearlessness and butter, anything is possible.” ~Columbia Pictures"
I'm not sure what drew me to love this movie so much. Maybe it was the delicious looking food or the endless beauty of the streets of Paris, or it could be that there were parts in there about blogging, but it could also be because that it portrayed an often cliched topic of "Dreams Really Do Come True" in a not-so-cliche way. I don't know..but whatever it was it had caught my heart. I was really, truly, hypnotized by this movie.
Synopsis :
"Jesse, a writer from the US, and Celine, a Frenchwoman working for an environment protection organization, acquainted nine years ago on the train from Budapest to Vienna, meet again when Jesse arrives in Paris for a reading of his new book. As they have only a few hours until his plane leaves, they stroll through Paris, talking about their experiences, views and whether they still love each other, although Jesse is already married with a kid."'
To be honest, this movie is really just two people in love strolling around Paris talking, just talking. Really not made for people who love action. But still, I found their views on life and..whatever..very inspiring and..real. Okay I can't really explain but here's a part from the movie which made a whole ball of fact. Sometimes we know the truth but we just need to hear it out loud you know?
Jesse: Oh, God, why didn't we exchange phone numbers and stuff? Why didn't we do that? Celine: Because we were young and stupid. Jesse: Do you think we still are? Celine: I guess when you're young, you just believe there'll be many people with whom you'll connect with. Later in life, you realize it only happens a few times. Jesse: And you can screw it up, you know, misconnect.
Synopsis:
"Dear John" tells the story of John Tyree (Channing Tatum), a young soldier home on leave, and Savannah Curtis (Amanda Seyfried), the idealistic college student he falls in love with during her spring vacation. Over the next seven tumultuous years, the couple is separated by John’s increasingly dangerous deployments. While meeting only sporadically, they stay in touch by sending a continuous stream of love letters overseas--correspondence that eventually triggers fateful consequences."
Dear John, oh Dear John. Need I say anything really?
Synopsis :
". Emma (Ms. Hathaway) and Dexter meet on the night of their graduation– July 15th, 1988. She is a working-class girl of principle and ambition who dreams of making the world a better place. He is a wealthy charmer who dreams that the world will be his playground. But where will they be on this day next year, and the year after that? Over 20 years, we check in on Emma and Dexter every July 15th, and watch as their friendship ebbs and flows with the passing of the years. Through love and loss, heartbreak and success, hopes fulfilled and dreams shattered, these two souls experience the sometimes wonderful, sometimes tragic, often hysterical but always moving, grandeur of life. Somewhere along their journey, they realize that sometimes what you are looking for has been right there in front of you all along."

The synopsis does not do any justice to the movie because even though this movie may sound like every other best-friends-who-finally-after-all-the-years-fall-in-love movie, it is not. Okay, maybe it is, but it's rather unique; it's strung together in such a way which makes it...different. Maybe it was hormones or just the usual pathetic emotional day but I did cried a bit through the movie. Must watch!
.............
These are just some who are at the top of my list now.
Til next time then, lovelies!
Off to watch more movies.
Love, AngelKein.

These are some of my wife's favorite movies out there, she's a huge love story movie buff. She has my Blockbuster Movie Pass queue full of them, I don't mind, it keeps her happy. This is what I love best about the Movie Pass, I can stream what I like, get disc rentals in Blu Ray for no extra cost so both me and my wife are happy. Working for DISH I know that it's only $10 too, An amazing value!
aww~ i supa love Julie & Julia!!
